Live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun . . . Sandy Gingrass, “How to Live at the Beach”
Always thinking she was a “Mountain Girl,” Lisa never imagined she’d find Paradise in Beaufort, NC.
A native of Chicago, who grew up in Arkansas, Lisa always loved the out-of-doors. She would fish the local lakes with her grandfather when he came to visit. They would use bologna as bait to catch sunfish, catfish or any guppy that came along.
After earning her B.A. in Business from Austin College, Lisa worked in Raleigh, NC in the nonprofit sector, where she met the love of her life, Capt. Paul Cox. For over 25 years, they’ve fished, island hopped and explored the waters and barrier islands of the Crystal Coast.
Lisa and Capt. Paul want to share their love of the Crystal Coast – the natural environment, the people and the culture – with others. That’s why they started Fraid Knot Adventures. Lisa is the “brains” behind the family-owned company. She manages the day-to-day operations and works to make sure everything runs smoothly. Needless to say, she now considers herself an “Ocean Girl.”
